The acid has not turned on you — that demented, vaguely avian vision you see is just the 2015 Women's World Cup mascot



Her name is Shuéme, and she's a young female Great White Owl. She was first unveiled in June, but most soccer fans got their first look at her on Saturday during the draw for the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada

Shuéme, whose name is inspired by the French word for owl (chouette) as a tribute to Canada’s status as a bilingual nation, embraces the expansive and inclusive soul of Canada as a multicultural country, and will become a familiar sight from coast to coast in the months ahead. Read more...
