Guilty: Tsarnaev convicted in Boston bombing
There was never much doubt that the jury would convict Dzhokhar Tsarnaev of many crimes in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. The question was how many, which ones, and how that might affect his sentence.
After a little over 11 hours of deliberation, the jury found Tsarnaev guilty of at least one count of the 30 crimes with which he was charged. Now the trial will enter what's known as the penalty phase, where jurors will decide if Tsarnaev deserves to die for his crimes.
Tsarnaev was charged with setting off two pressure-cooker bombs at the marathon's finish line on April 15, 2013, along with his older brother, Tamerlan, who was killed in the manhunt that ensued over the following days. The blasts killed three and injured more than 260. Read more...
