BuzzFeed reposts articles about major advertisers after editor admits he "blew" it

BuzzFeed has restored posts that had been controversially pulled, leading its editor in chief Ben Smith to admit that he had acted rashly in removing articles from the website that did not conform to his idea of tone.

"I blew it," Smith wrote in an email to BuzzFeed's editorial staff that he also posted on Twitter. "Twice in the last couple of months, I've asked editors — over their better judgement and without any respect to our standards or process — to delete recently publish posts from the site."
