UK Budget 2015: Good news for drinkers, drivers and savers, less so for environment

LONDON — "Britain is walking tall again."

That was the bold statement from Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne about the state of the British economy as he delivered the Budget 2015 to the House of Commons on Wednesday.

Osborne announced a raft of new measures no doubt designed to appeal to the millions of voters heading to the polls in just seven weeks

Naturally, Labour leader Ed Miliband was critical of the chancellor's Budget, saying that the measures announced were merely pre-election promises
