Oscars panic time: A catch-up guide for the 7 most essential films

LOS ANGELES — Uh oh. The Oscars are four days away, and you've seen how many nominated movies? If you're a normal person, the answer is "not nearly enough."


While it's definitely time to panic, there's good news: You'll have the bases covered by watching less than two movies per day — mostly from home — between now and Sunday's telecast. The bad news is that three key movies are not yet available on home video, which means a few trips to your local arthouse theater are part of this assignment.
