Syria President Bashar al-Assad says he is being kept informed about U.S.-led coalition air strikes on Islamic States targets in airspace above Syria

In an interview with the BBC, released Tuesday, Assad said there is communication, but denied any direct co-operation

"Through a third party - more than one party - Iraq and other countries. Sometimes they convey message, general message, but there's nothing tactical," Assad said
