Samsung packs performance and security into its tiny T1 portable SSD

For a portable storage drive, speed, capacity and price used to be the only things you looked at. But after the past hack-filled year, you can add security to that list, and that's something Samsung's new T1 drive addresses.

Like any drive, the T1 can be password-protected, but it also includes embedded security software and supports AES 256-bit data encryption — the same standard the NSA uses to protect top-secret files.

On top of that, this drive is tiny. At 2.1 x 2.8 x 0.36 inches and 0.9 ounces, it isn't just smaller than most drives, it's smaller than most cellphones. Read more...
