David Cameron says TV debates take the life out of elections

LONDON — He's long made his feelings clear about them, but on Tuesday the Prime Minister hit out at televised election debates saying they take away from the real campaign. However, he did say he would consider taking part in the proposed events if a deal could be done to include the Northern Irish parties



"Debates are better outside the election campaign because last time ... they took all the life out of the election campaign, no one could talk about anything else," he told the BBC 4's Today programme


"The BBC can’t wait to get onto the issue of the debates rather than talk about the issues." Read more...
