The battle for Soho’s soul: How Londoners are fighting development in the capital

On a bright, crisp Saturday morning, a coffin makes its way through Soho in central London. Its bearers’ morose faces hint at a devastating loss, but their attire adds a different dimension to the story. Orange wigs mingle with theatrical skull staffs, burlesque dancers skip around sharp suited men, while a woman crowned with leather horns brings up the rear.
