Protests over Eric Garner's death and police brutality continue across the U.S.

Protests against police brutality continued on Saturday across the United States, after Wednesday's grand jury decision not to indict a white NYPD officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner, a black man.


Thousands of people condemned the decision in multiple cities, including Oakland, Chicago, Miami, Washington, D.C., Providence and New York City. In addition to holding signs, they chanted, "Black lives matter" and "I can't breathe," which refers to Garner's last words before he died in July. Anger over Garner's death has coincided with mass protests in response to another grand jury decision not to indict former Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown in August.
