Frustrated by a lack of grand jury indictments in two recent cases involving unarmed black men who died in confrontations with police officers, the family of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who was shot by a cop in Cleveland, wants the officer convicted — and they say prosecutors should skip the grand jury process entirely.
"We don’t need to have another grand jury," Rice family attorney Benjamin Crump said at a press conference on Monday, citing the video that captured the shooting as enough probable cause to indict the officer.
