'Minecraft' is getting a story-based spinoff game

From the people who brought you games based on the dramatic worlds of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, comes a story-based Minecraft spinoff.

The iconic block-building game, which is often played in sandbox mode without a story, is getting the Telltale Games treatment in Minecraft: Story Mode. The narrative-driven game is due out "some time" in 2015 for a variety of platforms, the publisher announced Thursday
