'The Interview' is coming to theaters on Christmas after all

LOS ANGELES — If all you wanted for Christmas was to see The Interview, it looks like Santa is coming through — in select cities, at least.


A rumor started brewing on Monday that Sony was making an 11th-hour effort to release the canceled film on Christmas Day, and on Tuesday morning, Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League tweeted:



Breaking news: Sony has authorized screenings of THE INTERVIEW on Christmas Day. We are making shows available within the hour#Victory

The Texas-based independent theater chain was part of a petition effort to convince Sony to let it play the film. Another theater, the Plaza in Atlanta, tweeted late Monday night that it was also showing The Interview: Read more...
