European Parliament supports state of Palestine in principle

The European Parliament adopted a resolution Wednesday that supports a state of Palestine in principle

The resolution — "[The European Parliament] supports in principle recognition of Palestinian statehood and the two-state solution, and believes these should go hand in hand with the development of peace talks, which should be advanced" — was carried by 498 to 88 votes, with 111 abstentions
