British neighbourhood turns itself into a real life advent calendar

LONDON — Residents from 24 houses in an English town have joined together to create a really big advent calendar

During advent, a new window is illuminated in a different house each evening in The Avenues, a part of Hull made up of Victorian houses. Advent, which is observed by many Christian churches, starts on the Sunday closest to the feast of St Andrew the Apostle. It stretches across the four Sundays leading up to Dec. 25
