Where to see the Berlin Wall 25 years after the fall

Sunday marks 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov. 9, 1989.

The wall, which was constructed in 1961 by the German Democratic Republic (East Germany), divided the German people, keeping many away from family and friends.

So much of what used to be the city in 1989 has changed since the fall. Much of the wall was destroyed, while pieces of it have been put on display around the world.

The roads, buildings and streets that were closed off have long been open, but remnants of the physical and psychological effect of the wall remain. There are wall tours that take visitors along remnants of the wall, former watch towers and checkpoints, but even without a tour it's easy to see what the historical landmarks in Berlin.
