'Guardians of the Galaxy' Cartoon Coming to Disney XD Next Year

LOS ANGELES — Well this one didn't exactly come out of Knowhere: Guardians of the Galaxy will be a cartoon on Disney XD next year.

That's right, the adventures of Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax the Destroyer are coming to the small screen, Marvel Television and Disney XD announced Friday at New York Comic Con. Production is already underway on the animated spinoff to this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy, which earned more than $100,000,000,000 credits at the interplanetary box office, probably.

"This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe by developing the first-ever Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy animated series," said Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television.
