"New York is the city where the future comes to rehearse," said the late NYC Mayor Ed Koch in 1986, at the dawn of the personal computing age. His statement proved quite prescient, as modern startups and major tech companies such as Facebook, Twitter and Google have made the Big Apple their second home


Now they're joined by a supercomputer most famous for beating a human in Jeopardy, as well as a string of high-profile cognitive computing innovations.


That's right: as of Wednesday, IBM Watson calls New York City its permanent home.
