Ken Tsang Kin-chiu, the man beaten by plainclothes police during an early Wednesday clash with pro-democracy protesters, threatened legal action against the police as he displayed his bruises to a throng of press in front of the North Point Police Station Wednesday night.

The six police officers who used excessive force against Tsang, whose hands were tied behind his back as he was kicked and punched, have been reassigned and Hong Kong officials have promised an "impartial" review of the pummeling, which was captured on video by local TV station TVB.
