Comet to Buzz by Mars — And You Get to Watch

A comet is set to zoom past Mars in a rare celestial event Sunday afternoon.


The event will be live streamed by Slooh, an organization that connects powerful telescopes to the Internet. The Virtual Telescope Project will also be streaming the comet's passing.



The Slooh viewing is set to start at 2:15 p.m. ET, with the actual passing anticipated to occur around 2:27 p.m. ET.
