Apple HomeKit Likely Won't Launch Until Next Year

Apple wrapped up its big product announcements for 2014 this week with the arrival of new iPads, iMacs and OS X Yosemite software. CEO Tim Cook made it pretty clear on stage that the company is done with its major news for the year, and industry insiders tell Mashable the same thing.

So if all is said and done for 2014, where in the world is HomeKit and why didn't see an Apple TV software update, which is rumored to include HomeKit compatibility and be the hub of the smart home platform) at the presentation?
