White House Fence Jumper Had 800 Rounds of Ammo

Investigators found more than 800 rounds of ammunition, a machete and two hatchets in the car belonging to the man who allegedly jumped the White House fence, a federal prosecutor said Monday.

The intruder, Omar J. Gonzalez, managed to jump over the north fence of the White House on Friday and escaped capture until he was inside the North Portico entrance of the presidential mansion

The event led to a rare evacuation of much of the White House. Obama and his family were headed to Camp David when the breach occurred Friday evening. In a federal court proceeding, Assistant U.S. Attorney David Mudd said that the accused intruder, Omar J. Gonzalez, was a danger to the president. Read more...
