California Voters May Get Another Shot at Legalizing Marijuana

One of the main supporters of the effort that legalized recreational marijuana use in Colorado is now backing a similar project in California.

The Marijuana Policy Project plans to file with the California secretary of state to form a committee that will seek to place a ballot initiative before voters in 2016, the group said Wednesday in an emailed statement. Its goal: to regulate marijuana in the same manner as alcohol. The Marijuana Policy Project said it's recruiting a coalition of activists, businesses and community leaders to join the effort
