Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin is well known for his spectacular slam dunks. His slam poetry? Not so much.


That may change with a series of short videos that shows the 6-foot-10 All-Star power forward in front of a speakeasy audience reading super-serious slam poetry about his mouthguard, his tearaway pants and his bobblehead. He didn’t actually write it — advertising types did took care of that part — but he kills the over-earnest delivery.

The tongue-in-cheek work, from LA ad agency David&Goliath, promotes the Vizio Ultra HD television and its message of “finding beauty in the details.” It’s a softer sell than a typical commercial, with no outright shilling and no media budget for the videos.
