Jonathan Liebesman is in defense mode. The director's latest project, the ultra shiny film reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles , is slated for release on August 8 — but it has been plagued every step of the way


"Listen, what I'm finding out very quickly is you cannot please all the people all the time, especially with Ninja Turtles," Liebesman says in his South African drawl, in an interview with Mashable. In production since 2012, the new film has been harangued by diehard fans, and postponed thrice. Finally, Michael Bay, the divisive king of action, is one of its producers


"If it wasn’t for Michael, we wouldn’t have gotten the money we needed to do it the way we did it," Liebesman says. "We would have never had access to the amazing technology." Read more...
