Report: Snapchat to Get Ads, News

Snapchat is planning to broaden its offerings this fall with ads, TV and movie clips and news articles, according to a report.

The popular app, which famously rebuffed a $3 billion acquisition offer from Facebook last year, is in talks with advertisers and media companies about a service called Snapchat Discovery that would display such content, according to The Wall Street Journal . The new offering would launch in November, according to the report.

Reps from Snapchat could not be reached for comment.
