Tallest Building West of the Mississippi Is Getting an Observation Deck

The owners of the tallest building in Los Angeles want to build an observation deck to rival the views at New York's Empire State Building and Chicago's Willis Tower.

The sky-high deck on the U.S. Bank Tower will get about $50-million worth of improvements, including a restaurant that would offer panoramic views of the Los Angeles region, from the mountains to offshore islands.
