Shazam Improves In-App Streaming for Rdio Subscribers

Shazam just made music playback easier for Rdio's premium users.

The music-identification service updated its iOS app Monday to allow Rdio subscribers to play entire tracks from within its app.

Shazam had already been using Rdio for song playback, but previously, playing an entire song required launching the Rdio app.

Now, after identifying a track, subscribers to Rdio unlimited ($14.99 per month in the United States) can listen to the entire song without leaving Shazam's app

Shazam will also integrate with Rdio subscriber's playlists: The app will automatically add songs it identifies to a "Your Shazamed Tracks" playlist, and users can choose to add these songs to other Rdio playlists directly from the Shazam app. Read more...
