Netflix Tests Privacy Feature to Help Hide Your Embarrassing Viewing Habits

Netflix is giving some of you permission to have a one-night stand with your favorite bad movie.


The company is testing a "private viewing" feature that allows users to hide a movie or show from their viewing history and recommendations.



Now, when you curl up after a long week to watch 27 Dresses on a Friday night, you can be sure your roommate (or spouse or parents or whoever else you share your account with) won't see the remnants of your shameful viewing habits.


The new feature, which was first reported by GigaOm , also excludes your selection from its recommendation technology, meaning you won't spend the next two weeks with reminders of the late night mistake you made when you caved and watched Failure to Launch (again). Read more...
