Netflix Speeds Continue to Slow on Verizon Despite Peering Deal

Despite signing a peering agreement to improve service speeds, Netflix access through Verizon FiOS is actually getting slower.


Netflix released its monthly ISP speed index on Monday showing off the latest figures for June 2014.



Although the rankings for major ISPs have remained largely the same, Verizon FiOS actually dropped two positions, from 10th place to 12th between May and June 2014. Right now, the average speed for Verizon FiOS subscribers is 1.58Mbps, or about half as fast as ISP leader Cablevision, which averages 3.10Mbps for its subscribers. Read more...
